The Trout Inn, Itchen Abbas, formerly known as The Plough is situated in the picturesque valley of the itchen. What used to be a coaching inn that had its own brewery, it is said that the Trout was frequented by the writer Charles Kingsley and is said to be where he had his inspiration to write the Water Babies.
The Trout is a large inn, with a fine dining, non-smoking restaurant.Your food will be prepared by our award-winning chefs. The style of food served is regarded as 慶lassic with a twist.' All food is prepared on site using only the best quality local products.
Aside from the restaurant and bar, we have three comfortable rooms, two doubles and one twin with en-suite facilities with views across the valley. Ideal for business stays or pleasure, and only minutes away from junction 9 of the M3. The Trout Inn also boasts ample parking space.
